Strike Out ALS! XXX

I think we’ve all experienced the #IceBucketChallenge phenomenon that’s spreading ALS Awareness across the country. In raising awareness, DEBC was challenged by the ALSA – Texas Chapter Executive Director, Tanner Hockensmith last week. We accepted his challenge and passed on our challenge to a couple of great members of our Dallas community. And so on, and so on.

Deep Ellum Brewery has a challenge for all our fans and those who would like to contribute. Join us all for the “Strike Out ALS” charity event and brewery open house on September 17th from 6pm-8pm at DEBC!

Live music by Paul Renna, brewery tour, 3 pints of DEBC beer with complimentary pint glass. Guest speaker, Tanner Hockensmith, Executive Director for ALSA-Texas.org., will share a few words on the success this phenomenon this last month has been.

100% of all proceeds go to the Texas ALS Chapter. That’s right, 100%!

What is ALS?

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.

In 1939, Lou Gehrig said goodbye to baseball with his “Luckiest Man” speech. 75 years later we are celebrating all the strides that have been made in understanding the disease while raising money for the cure our patients so desperately need. This event will be a great chance to meet some of the amazing patients the ALS Association – Texas Chapter is helping and find out how you can get involved in getting us closer to a cure!

All age event. 21+ for beer, corn hole for the kids in us!

A motivating discussion is definitely worth comment. I do think that you need to publish more on this subject, it might not be a taboo matter but typically folks don’t speak about
such subjects. To the next! Cheers!!
