At Deep Ellum we know the hard work and dedication it is to make a damn fine brew. Nearly every brewer begins his or her passion in the comforts of there own home. In recognition of home brewing we release our most memorable annual event each Labor Day weekend…

Back by popular demand in our 3rd year, Labor of Love III, kicks off Sunday, August 31st 6pm to 10pm. $30 admission entry.

We’ve invited 40+ Texas local homebrewers and their home brew to us. In efforts to show our love and appreciation we provided them grain and hops for brewing prior to entering the event.

Commemorative Labor of Love glass with samples of your local home brew and Deep Ellum brew along with an award ceremony, food trucks and kick-ass local live music.

The week leading up to the event we will judge each beer from a panel of local craft beer enthusiasts, beer bloggers, writers, beer pub bar managers, bartenders and hard working brewery employees all Texas local.

Judging categories are..

Hoppy, Spiced, Malty, Dark, Session, Sour and Whimsical. Should you join us, your vote includes the last category as Fan Favorite.

Out of the 8 winners, DEBC brewers choose Best in Show! This beer is brewed the following summer labeled as Deep Ellum’s Labor of Love for all to enjoy at your local favorite DEBC account.

Local musical talent, Justin Pickard and the Thunderbird Winos, is headlining. Justin has been with us since our first brewery tour back in 2010. We couldn’t be more excited to have him debut this festival!

DEBC favorite food trucks, Pompeii, Easy Sliders and Eat Jo Dawgs will all be here for you feeding frenzy.

Über has teamed up with us in efforts to stay safe on the road, should you need a designated driver use Uber and the promo code ‘DrinkDeep’ to score $20 off your first ride. No account? Just signup here (https://www.uber.com/go/drinkdeep) and the discount will automatically apply to your first ride!

This is a sold out event year after year. So please get your tickets soon.

How would a local HB get invited to the competition? I have some decent recipes I’d like to share with DEBC.
